What does this tool do?
Resize Image changes a picture to an exact pixel width and height. Your original dimensions appear automatically, and the aspect-ratio lock keeps the picture from stretching.
Useful for
Resizing website images, social graphics, thumbnails, screenshots, and pictures for forms.
What to know before using it
- Resizing changes the number of pixels, not the physical DPI or the image subject.
- Upscaling does not restore missing details; stretching with the aspect-ratio lock turned off can distort the image.
- PNG, JPG, and WebP output is supported. The original file remains untouched.
How to resize an image without unwanted stretching
- 1Select your image and check its original dimensions.
- 2The original width and height appear automatically. Change either value; Keep aspect ratio updates the other value. Untick it only if you want to stretch the image.
- 3Pick your format and click Process images. The original and resized dimensions appear beside the download.
Frequently asked questions
How do I resize a picture to 1200 pixels wide?
Choose the image, enter 1200 in Width, leave Keep aspect ratio checked, and process. The height is calculated from the original image ratio.
Will resizing add detail to a small image?
No. Enlarging an image interpolates existing pixels and cannot recover original detail that was not captured.
Can I keep my picture in PNG format?
Yes. Choose PNG in the output dropdown or keep the original format when your source is PNG.
Made to solve real image problems
I often need to resize, compress, or convert images for everyday tasks. I also prefer not to upload private photos and documents just to change their size. So I built these simple tools to do the job right in the browser, on your own device.
